Foundation for Rebuilding Childhood

Our History

India has the largest youth population in the world. When FRC commenced operations in India in 2017, it did so with the recognition that children and young people could be better supported by investing in grassroots organisations driven by passion, commitment and bold ideas to meet their needs.

Recognising a critical need to advance the rights and opportunities of children and youth, FRC set out to help build a society where all children can live free from violence, discrimination and exploitation.

Since then, by establishing local operations, FRC has supported early-stage, child-centred, community-based organisations, providing them with access to both financial and technical resources.

We believe in the power of communities to drive change. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that lasting transformation in India cannot be achieved by institutions and organisations working in isolation. There is a critical need to build the capacity of communities. This includes engaging children and young people, increasing their awareness of both opportunities and challenges, and helping them realise their potential as future leaders who can work collectively to sustain and amplify positive change.

From 2017 to the present, FRC has invested in emerging organisations across India that work with children and youth. We have provided these organisations with access to resources, coaching and networking opportunities to bring their ideas and child-centric goals to life. Our partnerships span Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, all aimed at advancing the rights of children.

Our partners address a range of critical community challenges, including gender-based violence, youth employability, access to quality education for girls and education for children who have never attended school.
