FRC Safeguarding and Child Protection Statement
Introduction
FRC envisions a future where all children and youth in India have access to equal resources and opportunities in society, and live free from violence, discrimination, and exploitation. To ensure this, FRC is committed to safeguarding and protecting the rights, dignity and integrity of children and young people.
We acknowledge that:
- It is the responsibility of the organizations and professionals operating or associated with children and youth, to assure their safety and well-being.
- As enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we consider a child’s welfare of paramount importance.
- Regardless of their age, disability, gender, racial heritage, religious belief, sexual orientation, or gender identity, all children and youth have an equal right to protection.
- It is our responsibility to minimize the risks associates with our activities, including activities that could cause re-traumatization.
- In conformity with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and in accordance with FRC’s values, this Safeguarding Statement reflects our commitment to respect, promote, uphold, and protect the rights of the child.
Accountability
Safeguarding is an integral part of FRC’s operations and values, and any violation of this Safeguarding Statement will be treated seriously by FRC. Violation and failure in complying with this statement may result in disciplinary actions (including possible dismissal, cessation of contracts or partnerships, and if necessary referral to the police or any other relevant authorities.
